Sage Folio Creative was born as an canopy for my various creative passions: Photography, Graphic Design for book publishing and print, Surface Design for products, Pattern Design for fabrics, Typography, Mixed Media — all of which inform the other in my work, to create visual art and designs infused with meaningful layers, textures, and details.
I specialize in graphic design for book covers, interior pages, and other print work. My strengths lie in thoughtful and expressive design for fiction, memoir, and history (I enjoy reading your entire manuscript and getting to know your cast and themes), and wrangling complicated page production challenges (send me your footnotes, photos, lists, and tables).
I use my passions for art, photography, history, craft, history, and travel to inform my work, and my deep experience in the publishing industry makes me an excellent resource and consultant to have on your team. I would love to bring my talents and the expertise earned on over 500 unique titles to your project.
After enjoying ten years as Senior Designer at Perseus Books Group/Hachette, designing for books produced under the Avalon Travel (Moon Handbooks and Rick Steves) and Seal Press imprints, I transitioned to full-time freelancing.
As an independent designer for the past ten years, I have made a niche specialty of working with new and experienced authors who wish to publish their books independently.
I will design your book, and I will also help you navigate the process of getting your book out into the world: not only producing a gorgeous volume that you will be proud of, but also helping out with things like where to get your ISBN and how to choose the print vendor that is best for your project's needs.
I would love to hear from you
